Description
Personal Appearance - Performing Self is a work by artist Cindy Baker. The performance, which occurred over several days in October 2008, was presented by The New Gallery and Mountain:Standard Time 4.

For Personal Appearance, Baker is dressed in a mascot costume of herself. She makes appearances at a variety of events, and interacts with the public as a character of herself. The costume simultaneously exaggerates and hides Baker's identity, bringing into question the notion of how we present ourselves to the public.
